ProMat is one of the largest industry events for manufacturing and supply chain professionals, providing individuals from the U.S. and over 140 countries access to the latest material handling solutions.
Though this year looked different by switching to a digital experience instead of the traditional in-person tradeshow format from previous years, ProMatDX was still an exciting week full of educational seminars, product demonstrations, and networking opportunities to help companies streamline material flow and add agility to their operations.
In this blog, we recap all of the key show highlights from ProMatDX 2021.
Leading up to the event, Seegrid debuted several new products that added new capabilities to our holistic, end-to-end automation portfolio. With the digital format of the show, Seegrid hosted several virtual product demonstration sessions, where attendees watched our Palion autonomous mobile robot (AMR) fleet in action performing various material handling processes.

Palion is the label for all of Seegrid’s new and forthcoming AMRs—including the Palion Lift, Palion Pallet Truck, and Palion Tow Tractor. The Palion AMR product family represents our newest line of mobile robots that uniquely provide automated material flow to increase productivity, improve safety, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement. All Palion AMRs utilize Seegrid’s proven navigation technology, integrate into workflows during live operations, prove a quick ROI in as little as six months, and seamlessly scale across entire networks of facilities. Let’s take a quick look at the Palion autonomous robot fleet.
The newest addition to the Palion AMR fleet is Palion Lift. This highly anticipated AMR provides true end-to-end task automation for vertical low-lift processes across facilities, precisely delivering materials to elevated surfaces. By adding lift capabilities, Seegrid can automate new workflows for manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics facilities for a connected inbound-to-outbound material orchestration solution.
Palion Lift can transport up to 3,500 pound payloads from one area to another, placing them at heights of up to six feet, integrating with existing workflows and equipment to quickly, safely, and efficiently move materials.
In February, Seegrid premiered the new Palion Pallet Truck which is the intelligent AMR for autonomous pallet movement. Palion Pallet Truck was designed for precision—engaging skids, pallets, crates, and other containers up to 8,000 pounds without any human intervention. This AMR also features intelligent lane staging, meaning that it can autonomously identify, build, and deplete pallet lanes, streamlining workflows including inbound receiving and putaway.
Rounding out Seegrid’s industry-leading autonomous mobile robot portfolio is the Palion Tow Tractor. This material handling robot transforms horizontal movement, transporting cart trains and other payloads for hands-free flexibility. Palion Tow Tractor can haul payloads up to 10,000 pounds, moving multiple payloads in one trip for significant operational cost savings, making facilities safer and more productive.
Seegrid also introduced an enterprise software platform called Fleet Central. This platform includes Supervisor and the newly released Fleet Geek™, providing vital information about the status and performance of a Palion AMR fleet to ensure material flow is fully optimized.
Supervisor is Seegrid’s fleet management software that enables users to connect their operations to monitor and control their Palion AMR fleet. Fleet Geek is Seegrid’s fleet analytics software that provides a holistic, data-driven view of material flow throughout entire facilities and enterprises. On-demand data insights empower informed decision making by maximizing visibility and understanding to improve Palion AMR fleet performance and increase efficiencies.
Seegrid also hosted an educational seminar during the event, where Seegrid’s VP of Product Jeff Christensen explained how to utilize actionable analytics to ensure a successful implementation of AMRs and achieve a strong ROI. Jeff walked attendees through the steps and best practices to ensure customers confidently achieve corporate initiatives through the use of AMR technology and enterprise software solutions.
