Accelerating Seegrid's mission of delivering best-in-class autonomous vehicle solutions for modern industrial facilities.

Seegrid Corporation, a leader in autonomous vehicle solutions for modern industrial facilities, announced the appointment of Chris Baker as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Baker brings nearly 25 years of leadership experience in engineering software and industrial markets, positioning Seegrid for its next phase of accelerated innovation and growth.

Baker has held executive, business development, product management, and engineering roles at companies including New Eagle, Hexagon AB, MSC Software, and Ford Motor Company. Most recently, he served as CEO of New Eagle, a private-equity-backed embedded systems leader specializing in software solutions for electrification and autonomy. There, Baker successfully executed a company-wide transformation that staged operations for product and services growth in alignment with the wider fund portfolio strategy.

“Seegrid is defining the future of autonomous vehicle technology in material handling, and I am honored to join the team at such a pivotal time,” said Baker. “The company has a proven record of innovation and customer success. I look forward to working alongside this extremely talented team and its industry partners to continue advancing solutions that deliver measurable impact for our customers while strengthening Seegrid’s leadership in the market.”

Baker is known as a system-level thinker who is passionate about building high-performing, purpose-driven teams that are empowered to make meaningful contributions. Throughout his career, he has steered M&A and technology licensing initiatives, valuing collaboration and negotiation as key drivers for long-term success. His approach aligns with Seegrid’s mission to deliver reliable, scalable autonomous solutions that transform industrial productivity and safety.

This leadership transition follows the retirement of former CEO Joe Pajer, who guided Seegrid through a period of strong growth and innovation. Under his leadership, the company built a solid team, delivered significant market traction, and strengthened its position as the trusted partner for some of the world’s largest manufacturing and distribution companies.

Pajer is not stepping away from Seegrid entirely—he will continue to play an important role as an advisor to the company’s Board of Directors, ensuring continuity and ongoing support for the organization’s long-term vision.

“I am extremely proud of what our team accomplished during my time as CEO,” said Pajer. “We’ve built a foundation with tremendous momentum, and I look forward to supporting Chris and the team in my new role with the Board as Seegrid continues to reach even greater heights.”

Baker holds a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, as well as MSE and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan. A licensed Professional Engineer and father of five, he enjoys coaching youth teams, playing tennis and trumpet, exploring new technologies, and traveling with his family.

With Baker’s leadership and Pajer’s continued involvement, Seegrid is well positioned to accelerate its mission of delivering best-in-class autonomous vehicle solutions and enterprise fleet management software for today’s most dynamic industrial facilities.
